End Of A Journal

Tim Milburn

I realized a couple of weeks ago that I only had about 15 pages left in my journal. I decided that I would start a new one on the day after my birthday. Which brings me to today. Today’s my birthday…#54. So this morning, on this 54 th birthday of mine (as previously decided by the internal council of Tim) I wrote the last entry in my journal.

When Will The Leader Emerge?

Tim Milburn

In my work with student leaders I’m often asked how one becomes a leader. My first response: Lead yourself first. That’s a given in each and every situation. But there are other ways that one can move into a the role of a leader – whether you’re in a position or not. One Of The More Unlikely Places To Find Your Motivation

Tim Milburn

Tim Milburn

When I think about starting well, I’m not just thinking about projects or tasks. We get to practice starting well each and every day. That’s where I’m finding a lot of value. As I transitioned from working in a corporate environment to becoming a solopreneur (three months ago!), I sat down and wrote down what a perfect day would look and feel like for me.

How To Turn Regret Into A Resource

Tim Milburn

You got any regrets in your life? Anything you wish you could go back and change or do differently? We all do. It’s kind of like asking you if you’re breathing. Yup…we all are. Some of us may struggle with those regrets. Wishing for a time machine. Kicking ourselves for what happened. Focusing on the past. All of that is robbing us of energy we need for this present moment.

Excellence Is An Attainable Goal

Tim Milburn

'I’d like to talk to all of the student leaders in the room for a moment. (Everyone else can listen in if you’d like). As a student leader, you bring a unique set of strengths, abilities, and weaknesses to the table. You may or may not feel like you possess the “leadership” gene. But the one quality each and every student leader can demonstrate is excellence. photo credit: anjan58 via photopin cc.
