Sins of Omission

Look for it when:
  • You can easily correct a wrong and don't.
  • You kill a decision with which you disagree by doing nothing or little to implement it.
  • You refuse to do what you can to improve one situation by noting that you lack the resources to improve all such situations.
  • You purposely avoid learning about a matter in order to avoid any responsibility for fixing it.
  • You assign an incompetent to handle a project which you oppose.
  • You require an inordinate amount of study on a matter in order to delay taking action.
  • You adopt a "can't do" instead of a "can do" attitude and search for reasons to avoid an action.
  • You interpret rules in the way that is most likely to thwart action.
