5 Books Leaders Should Read In September 2020

It’s the end of another month. This means it’s time for new book recommendations.

Before we begin, I wanted to clear something up. While leaders are readers, it doesn’t mean leaders are fast readers. A couple of questions have come through regarding whether or not you should be reading all 5 books a month. My answer is no, you don’t have to. These are just recommendations of great books to put on your reading list.

For September, please consider the following 5 books to read.

5 Books Leaders Should Read In September 2020

1. The Idea-Driven Organization: Unlocking the Power in Bottom-Up Ideas by Alan G. Robinson and Dean M. Schroeder

I’ve been a firm believer that your front-line employees are often the key to your success. They interact with customers, your product, and more on a daily basis. They’ve got a pulse on your organization you cannot have.

Alan and Dean share in The Idea-Driven Organization how to align every part of your organization around generating and implementing employee ideas.

Using their methods, your business will not only grow… It will thrive from the power you unleash!

2. Good To Great by Jim Collins

A classic leadership/management book, Jim Collins’ Good To Great analyzes 28 companies, their DNA, and what makes them work so well… Or not so well. Good To Great is a required reading for anyone looking to grow their organization.

3. What to Do When You Don’t Know What to Do by David Jeremiah

Leaders are often put into a spot where it’s all new territory. They’ve never been there before. YOU’VE never been there before.

Dr. David Jeremiah knows where to go to get the answers. He uses Biblical knowledge to help readers and leaders discover the answer to the pressures of our daily lives. If you’re going through tough times and don’t know what to do, check out David Jeremiah’s book.

4. The E-Myth Revisited by Michael Gerber

Another leadership classic is Michael Gerber’s The E-Myth Revisited. In this great book, Gerber shares the secrets of building a great organization. HINT: It’s not doing everything yourself.

The E-Myth Revisited will open your eyes to blind spots you are missing in leading and growing your business. This book will help you get out of your own way and let your people help you.

5. Get Out Of Your Head by Jennie Allen

Why do so many people fail to achieve all they plan to do? It’s because they’ve allowed their thoughts to hold them captive.

We so easily listen to the lies our negative brain tells us. We believe the lies and then we fail to go after the dreams and passions that would supercharge our lives.

Read Allen’s words. Let them seep into your soul. Let them remind you to stop listening to yourself and get out there and do the things that scare you.
