I have a special folder… It’s where I keep the notes of encouragement… The emails you get that are extremely positive…. The cards that came in the mail…. The ones that say you’ve done something right…. The ones that say you know what you are doing…. The ones that say you made a difference in someone’s life…. We don’t get many of them…it may be months before we get another….

My friend Scott Williams , author of Church Diversity , and were comparing speaker experiences after each of us finished our talks at a conference where we were both speaking. We discovered we had some of the same observations about speaking to groups. I have continued thinking about our conversation since then and came up with a few more thoughts.
