Controlling one's emotions is part and parcel of emotional intelligence. And, emotional intelligence has been linked to successful leadership (just did a paper on this for a university class). In fact, emotional intelligence is viewed by some as a better predictor of success than the old hallmark, IQ.

These two qualities, in my opinion doesn't require any sill or talent and one needs to possess a high level of emotional intelligence to be able to demonstrate calmness and tranquility when others are going haywire. Thanks again for these valuable thoughts.

When I was a technology marketing exec in 2009, I heard the words nurture marketing. Behaviors like emotional intelligence, communication, and adaptability are examples. Emotional intelligence, a combination of self-reflection, self-regulation, internal motivation, empathy, and social skills has risen to the top rank.
