In twenty plus years of management work and leadership coaching, I’ve been in the room for a few really great offsites and a lot of really awful ones. Here, in my humble opinion, are three things that every leadership offsite agenda has to have: Context: You absolutely have to answer the question, “Why are we here and why does it matter?”

I love those articles because they’re great opportunities for data mining on leadership. A strong leadership point of view is memorable.

In contrast to the seedy and classless drama engineered by James and Gilbert, this weekend marked the passing of Bob Sheppard. That’s one definition of leadership. Once again, classless. Unless you’re a New York Yankees fan or a long time lover of baseball, you may not have heard of him. It’s definitely a definition of class.
