I’m currently in Atlanta, GA live blogging the Catalyst Conference. During this time, I’ll be dropping the leadership wisdom shared by the amazing speaker lineup.
Christine Caine is a lover of Jesus, wife to Nick, and mum to Catie and Sophie. She travels the globe preaching, teaching, and advocating for justice. Powered by hot, extra-dry, skinny, cappuccinos, Christine is a lover of words who speaks too fast, talks too much, and also writes them down. Christine has authored five books, including Undaunted and her most recent release, UNSTOPPABLE: Running the Race You Were Born to Win. She and her husband Nick have also founded The A21 Campaign, an anti-human trafficking organization that fights slavery around the globe.
Rise Up And Be Compassionate
We look to the future and see such a sense of vision and purpose. We see what’s coming.
But do you see what’s truly possible?
We overlook the true possibilities more often than not.
Christine Caine shared a story on how she interacted with a couple of young girls who had been trafficked. They were shipped across the sea in shipping crates. Many of the young girls that were shipped died while they were being shipped.
Now, Christine and A21 are changing the purpose of those shipping crates. They are being transformed into washrooms and bathrooms and being dropped along the borders for the Syrian refugees.
This is compassion in action. This is transformation happening today. This changing lives.
Do you have this kind of vision? Do you have this kind of compassion?
Leaders Can Keep People Out Of Their Destiny
When the Israelites came out of Egypt and wandered around for 40 years, they had the possibility of entering the Promised Land. They sent 12 leaders to scope out the Promised Land.
2 of those leaders came back with great reports. Lots of food. Great real estate. It’s going to be grand!
Then the other 10 shared their reports.
But the inhabitants are so big. We’re grasshoppers in our eyes (and theirs). We’re screwed!
The problem with the church today is that our BUTs are too big
These 10 leaders put a damper on the possibility of going into the land they’ve been promised. They kept millions of their followers from entering their destiny.
OUCH!!!
Even when God had promised these people the land, the future, the goodness…. Leaders can hold back the work of God, at least for a time.
Your reports and your perspective impact the ability of others to move into their calling. Be someone who’s willing to help others move forward, not backward or stay still.
You don’t need to be a celebrity Christian, you just need to be a faithful Christian to receive what God has for you.
