Here's Something Contagious You Need to Catch

Heads up, my friends! This is a completely new style of blog post—one I’ve never written before, but one that needs to be written because I so want you to know about what’s coming around the corner. For those of you who know me, or who’ve been close to me this last year, this will be a recap and update. For those of you new to me…thanks in advance for celebrating this milestone with me, for coming to this site, and for participating in this work in whatever way you do. It’s an honor.

Living a Dream

Last year in November I had a longtime dream come true—I was invited to write a book on the IEP Method. Of course, my answer was a full-bodied YES!

December through March I dove in, mind, body, spirit, heart, brain, every cell—head, shoulders, knees, and toes—to get this baby birthed while still running a business and working with clients. This book tested me in my own personal IEP in every way possible, and it gave me insights to IEP issues I didn’t even know could exist. (More on this in future posts.)

This is hands-down one of the most difficult things I’ve ever done in my life. It has also been one of the most rewarding and invigorating and heartfelt experiences. Ever.

And now I’m excited to share it with you.

So What IS This Book?

The book is called Contagious Culture: Show Up, Set the Tone, and Intentionally Create an Organization That Thrives. Think of it as a “business and leadership” meets “life and love,” meets “personal and cultural nourishment” guide.

There’s lots of good stuff about how to build a strong personal leadership presence, how to hire and fire with good IEP, how to nurture gratitude, leading meetings that don’t suck, and creating space for your family. And it’s chock full of real, tangible action plans.

Through a combination of sharing, teaching, true stories, tools and action plans, you’ll learn all about the IEP Method and how it applies to culture. Not just your corporate culture…culture of all kinds: your organizational culture, your family culture, even the crazy culture that lives in your head as a human being.

Contagious Culture is divided into five sections that build on each other:

  • Section 1: What is all this IEP stuff anyway? How does it apply to leadership? And what do you mean I’m contagious?
  • Section 2: Nourishing (and challenging) YOU as leader, building your own IEP and awareness and strengthening your leadership presence
  • Section 3: Applying it all to your leadership skills and how you show up in leading others, giving you tools and resources for leadership
  • Section 4: Applying this to culture and creating healthy cultural IEP (and a contagious culture people actually WANT to catch)
  • Section 5: Putting it all together with examples, case studies, and resources for integration

What’s made me really happy about this book so far is that the early reviews have shared that “there is something in it for everyone,” “it’s not preachy (but rather an invitation),” “it’s immediately applicable” and readers can “feel Anese’s heart—yet there’s also the call to step up and step into a new and more intentional level of leadership.”

Want to Get Your Hands on the Book?

I’m happy to say that the book is done. Copies will be on the shelves in bookstores and online November 13. We’re in the final copyediting process right now. Endorsements are coming in and we’re abuzz about the launch in November. If you’re coming to see me speak in October, it’s likely we’ll be able to get our hands on some early copies. So stay tuned.

In the meantime, you can preorder a copy of Contagious Culture today! And as a thank you, we’re giving out a special bonus exclusively for early orders that includes presence and culture checks and tools, plus limited-edition IEP Survival Guides to get you started right away.

We’ve also created an awesome tool that gives you a sneak peak into the book and all it entails.

If you want to order in bulk for your organization, send us an email so we can set you up right.
