I read an interesting article on impressions in marketing. What the article did not speak about was things like frequency vs reach (most marketers believe more frequency beats more reach). And in researching to see if freezing really does kill germs (it does but not as well as boiling them does), I found an interesting article that using warm warm water for handwashing is a waste of energy. One thing the Fitbit does is track sleep.

A recent article in Entrepreneur magazine underscored how important reading is. I have always known reading was good and audiobooks are great. I have also known TV can often cut into reading time. It can be so much of a temptation that I do not even own a TV. I can easily consume 3-4 books in under an hour there.

HBR had a great article on "the 24 hour rule". The article was talking about internal communication but I thought it also applied to external communication. I find it highly effective at home if I set a time limit (otherwise I can spend all night and never get any downtime which is not the goal).

I thought this article on how time could be used better was awesome. I wonder if they had the article prepared and waited for a day such as this to release it. I find ideas are sometimes lost but writing them down "saves" them. 4 - Set goals around doing it. By setting goals and deadlines, I can artificially create urgency.

In the article he talks about the stock picker and fund managers and the people that manage them. I have noticed even I read many less books than I once did - because a book is long unlike a quick hit article. We need the adrenaline of another email or text notification. Technology has reduced our attention spans. I realize my biggest issue is time. And the best thing I can do to gain more slow time or thinking time is to say NO more.
