A book I read recently cast a whole new light on what it means to have problems as a leader, and what you should do about them. The book I just finished reading was It Worked for Me , by Colin Powell. His book is filled with interesting personal anecdotes that he uses to illustrate the lessons he’s learned about leading others.

That’s the question that author Adam Grant poses in his 2016 book Originals: How Non-Conformists Move the World. Some key points from the book I think you might appreciate include how original work happens in the first place, and how as leaders we can establish an environment that encourages originality from all of us.

A book I recently read does a great job of helping to answer those questions. [In The book tells the story of a fictitious tech startup, DecisionTech. While Lencioni doesn’t return to this approach later in the book, what Kathryn does is fundamental to her ability to lead her team from dysfunction to achievement.

Leadership is about influencing people in a specific direction, but sometimes that direction needs to change. A book I just read provides a great framework to figure out when you need to change, and what strategic direction to head. Kim and Maugorgne call what Bratton did in these examples a part of “tipping point leadership.”.
