The Why of Poor Performance


Reasons for taking an ineffective approach:

  • We have not been trained to do it properly.
  • We don't have sufficient resources.
  • This isn't a high priority.
  • It's more convenient to do it this way.
  • We've always done it this way.
  • We have to battle bureaucracy to perform the job well..
  • If we did it any differently people would think we are strange.
  • We believe this way is best even though it doesn't achieve the goal.
  • We are punished if we do it correctly.
  • We don't care.
