Many who could fulfill the role simply do not have the financial ability to pay their living expenses, mortagages, tuition, etc in order to fulfill the knowledge and training requirements to become a good doctor. Many would be excellent from other fields offering new insights into the discipline. Without that financial support, much will be lost.
