At one point Deutsch walked past the desk of a couple of his creative staff. Defensively they said they did that to get their creative juices flowing. Since it is a book about advertising, it has lots of real life examples of campaigns which I found made the book interesting. They were reading books on advertising awards.

Use high energy times for high creativity tasks. I know from my study of Time Management that knowing your high energy times and spending them on high impact activities can amplify results. He has a chapter on body rhythms and how to maximize the use of them. I re-emphasizes what I know. And use low energy times for “maintenance” tasks.
