Multitasking

Many of us are not into multitasking unless it is narrowed to thinking about work while taking a walk.

The idea that we can sit in a meeting and handle several tasks while listening to the other participants is both rude and unrealistic. What happens to the quality of discussion and analysis if audience members are text-messaging while someone else is speaking?

The answer is simple: It goes down. The fact that some people are more comfortable with such activities does not mean that these wizards are better listeners or that they can miraculously read body language while staring at a screen.

If you want to pay someone a quiet compliment, give them some serious attention when they are speaking. In this multitasking world, that may elicit more of a positive response than ever before.
