When Urgency is Missing

I've served on some committees that seem sedated.

Projects that could be wrapped up in an afternoon of hustle are stretched out for months. The main culture is one of deliberation and procrastination and it is hard to tell where one ends and the other begins. Those who urge swift action are viewed with suspicion, as if they are trying to pull something over on the group.

I half expect a tea trolley to arrive so we can munch biscuits and debate the use of a semi-colon.
