Life Lessons by Elizabeth Kübler-Ross

CEO Blog

I had read Elizabeth Kübler-Ross and David Kessler's book - Life Lessons - what 2 experts on death and dying can teach us about life and living. Just One Thing—Think Big(ger)

Management Excellence

I confess to having cultivated a strong affinity for Big Thinkers in my advancing years as an executive. The flip-side of this growing affinity is my creeping impatience and dismissal of small thinkers. Given the scale and scope of the challenges in our world and in our industries and firms, small thinkers are a drag on the drive to change. If CEOs Care About the Long Term, Why Don’t They Talk About It?

Harvard Business Review

CEOs are increasingly frustrated by the short-term orientation of investors. They say markets underappreciate long-term investments and ignore issues like employee and customer welfare, while pressuring companies to make decisions that maximize short-term earnings and stock prices. CEOs are perhaps right that some investors are short-term oriented and, as a result, damage the long-term success of businesses.
