Observations on Silence
Not every comment deserves a response. ~ The person who remains silent in order to ponder what is happening can surpass those who rush to judge or to perform. ~ Listen to what is not said. ~ You cannot be loud and mysterious. ~ Restrain your reactions so they can find the right stage. ~ Silence is often a sign of supreme self-discipline. ~ Silence can be both restful and alert. ~ You can listen yourself into a job and talk yourself out of one. ~ Always pay particular attention to the silent people in the room. ~ Take a vow of silence for at least two hours each week.
