7 Spending Encouragements to Make Life Better

Spend more time looking towards your future than at your past.

Spend more energy on what you can change rather than what you cannot.

Spend more time reading a book than watching television.

Spend more time extending grace than holding a grudge.

Spend more time listening than talking.

Spend more time dreaming than dreading.

Spend more energy with people you love rather than things you can buy.

Do you have more?

wonderful lists. Spend more time taking things from where they really are and making the most and best of them. Spend more time looking for the humor and positive in any situation. spend more time loving; God, His creation, His people and His possibilities to serve and brighten another's life.

    These are great!

    Spend less on 'things'
Spend less energy on seeing the glass half empty
    Spend less on negativity

Spend MORE on unseen 'things'…prayer, reading, thinking
Spend MORE time filling up that glass…encourage, smiling, thankfulness
Spend MORE time thinking GREAT positive thoughts…count blessings, not regrets!

    Thanks Ron

  • These are great, Ron. A few more for consideration:
    – Spend more time discovering your God-given strengths than your human weaknesses.
    – Spend more of your resources on building something than breaking apart.
    – Spend more energy valuing your eternal future than avoiding your difficult past.

This post is very timely for me. My husband and I just started a "Spending Fast," which I wrote about in my blog last week, but not in the way you talk about spending. I've been searching for what to replace spending with, and maybe I need to consider replacing it with different types of spending such as the ones you suggest.

  • Spend more time praising and worshiping Him rather than worrying and fearing in life.

Spend more time praying unto Him rather than gossiping / backbiting others.

Spend more time with your kids (especially quality time) rather than running behind money.
