The Bible says “train a child in the way he should go”. This is the greatest return on investment, more important than anything else, even education. The parent knows what foods are needed, what rest is needed, the best use of time, what education means, etc. Don’t “fly by the seat of your pants”. Secondly, invest in your child.

We need to educate them. By the way, it is interesting that we’ve been doing cultural training to send people on foreign mission trips for years, yet that seems like a “foreign” concept to some when it comes to training for the changing culture in our own backyards. People now define generosity differently.

The 5 major obstacles I have seen are: Lack of Biblical knowledge about marriage - There is very little premarital training in churches today or even in most homes that are raising children who will one day marry. How much training do most of us get for marriage? We need to do a better job training people for marriage.
