We did not deliberately memorize numbers but knowing them created an efficiency. Now I think I could gain efficiency by memorizing a few things. And the same number of part numbers, prices etc. Now with electronic address books, I barely know my own number.

He attributes their long lives to that, combines with their very tight social groups. EG - have only black socks. Concepts I am more on the fence on. "do do it for you".

Email is still more efficient that phoning or speaking to someone. I think rather than killing email, it is best to develop killer systems for managing the volume. Simple disciplines like blocking no-email times and only checking email at specific times. I once read a stat that a person could do 7 times more email than phone conversations.

Long enough to get some fresh air - short enough to be efficient. Exercise is one area I use the Power of While in a big way. I do walking meetings with my staff and people who want to meet with me. Most walks I do are 30 minutes. Walking meetings are also very levelling - not like sitting across a table or a desk.

Of course, I dislike stereotypes but much of what was said rang true. Different ages react differently to different media.
