The so-called “super committee” — the special team of twelve U.S. Congressmen charged with cutting the deficit — has failed to deliver. To many, their failure was the entirely too predictable outcome of a polarized government incapable of collaborating effectively. But I see two of their mistakes repeated again and again by managers in the private sector.
