New managers are the front-end of our leadership pipelines. And, they face a daunting challenge in shifting from contributor/producer to manager. They need help, coaching, training, and on-going support, and that’s often hard to come by in our time-stressed worlds. (See my recent article: Fixing the Fatal Flaw in New Manager Development.)

Sadly, the horror stories and failure rates for first-time managers are real and preventable. And, it typically takes more than just one person.

That’s where I come in.

I’m working to change the formula for developing new managers. It includes very different and very practical new manager training PLUS coaching. It also includes regular check-ins and tune-ups.

And, all of this is developed, delivered, and supported by a long-time software executive and ten-year executive and emerging leader coach.

Please put this in front of individuals in your organization involved in new manager development, HR, and learning and development.

Tools to Help with New Manager Development

1. Two upcoming cohort dates for this one-of-a-kind professional development experience: First-Time Managers Academy (FTMA)-Live + One-on-One coaching.

The content is battle-tested and proven. The coaching brings the content to life in the workplace.

But wait, there’s more. I’m happy to run 2x/year check-ins with new managers to discuss progress and identify new approaches to improve performance.

You don’t get this support from the training mills.

I love working with teams as well. Reach out if you want to discuss a group program

2. For all registrants in our upcoming FTMA programs, I’m offering a 30-minute session for the promoting manager to help identify approaches to strengthen their support of their new managers at no additional charge.

3. If you haven’t seen it, my e-book: High-Performance Habits of First-Time Managers, is filled with ideas to put to work immediately. Drop me a note, and I will send you a complimentary copy.

The Bottom-Line for Now:

I can’t think of any good reasons not to do everything possible to help new managers not only survive but thrive. However, success with this critical endeavor doesn’t come without effort. I’m here to help.
