In our tradition, ordination is separate from licensing. We see licensing as the act of making Ben legal to perform marriages and meet state requirements as a minister. Ben has been licensed for several years. Today at Grace Community Church we ordained Ben Reed to the ministry. Ben is community groups pastor at Grace.

Grace doesn’t give us a license to sin again. We wouldn’t know it was wrong to lie, for example, unless that standard had been set. Jesus removed the burden of the law and provided for us His grace. It gives a freedom to truly live. We are freed from the power sin had in our life. Do you need this week’s memory verse?

When my boys got their driver’s license we sent them to four Saturdays of classes. The 5 major obstacles I have seen are: Lack of Biblical knowledge about marriage - There is very little premarital training in churches today or even in most homes that are raising children who will one day marry.
