How to be Successful: The 9,051-Step Plan

Can you imagine climbing a staircase that is one mile high?

Seems like a lot, right?  It would be the same as climbing the Empire State Building more than four times, the Washington Monument nine times, or Niagara Falls 31 times.

But an amazing feat like climbing a mile-high staircase may not be as challenging as it seems.

Look at it this way.

There are 63,360 inches in a mile, and 7 inches in a standard stair step in the US.  So a mile high staircase would have 9,051 steps.  Still seems like a lot.

But no one said you have to get to the top today.  If you divide all those steps by the number of days in a year, things suddenly seem a lot easier.

You would only need to climb 25 steps a day. Just two flights of stairs. It’s a lot more manageable that way, right?

Any great accomplishment can be broken down into smaller, more manageable steps.  Each one may seem insignificant by itself, but added together over time, they can amount to something truly impressive.

The keys are:

Break the big goal down into small, concrete steps.
Take a step today.
Take another tomorrow.
Be consistent; make it a priority every day.

Even if it’s just seven inches at a time, those small increments can carry you to great heights.

So what are you waiting for?  The time to get started is today.

Your staircase awaits….

Lead on!
