The Power Of Online Influence

Growing influence beyond your local sphere of influence has become increasingly more accessible. With the advent of the internet, blogs, and social media, almost anyone can have online influence.

The issue is that not everyone uses online influence in positive ways.

We’ve seen the rise of fake news, angry outbursts, and more. This should be troubling to you and me.

Yet, there is something you can do. You can become an online influencer for good. There is power in online influence and the tools you use to build that influence.

When you think about the influence you have outside of the online world, your influence extends to your immediate sphere of influence. This could be your local friends and family, coworkers, faith community, business allies, and more.

The Power Of Online Influence

I think of the power of online influence and how it relates to my blog. While my local sphere of influence is small, basically revolving around my local community, my online influence is rather significant.

Just in the last month, my blog has reached readers in multiple countries including

  • Canada
  • India
  • Philippines
  • Netherlands
  • South Africa
  • Finland
  • And many more.

The relationships I have built are more important than the countries my work has reached. I think of people such as Dan Black, Brian Dodd, David Hayter, Paul Sohn, Michael Holmes, and more. These people have become friends, collaborators, and more.

There are even the material and financial perks that come from being an online influencer.

I’ve partnered with agencies such as FatJoe, Intellifluence, Amazon, and more. These partnerships have helped me supplement my income. They also show that what I am doing matters not only to me but to others.

What It Takes To Gain Online Influence

Honestly, it doesn’t take much to gain online influence. I’m going to share below what it takes. You may be surprised.

To build online influence, you will need:

A valuable message to share:

Any worthwhile online influencer has a message to share. They may want to talk about ethical fashion, the latest technology trends, or personal development.

The message they share is valuable to them. And to their audience.

Think about the message you have to share. What is it? Why do you want to share it? What would it do to the world?

An online presence:

The second thing you need to have online influence is an online presence. You probably already have this.

Do you have Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, or some other form of social media? Then you have an online presence.

In addition to a social media presence, I want you to consider creating an online presence on your own property.

Your online property is a website you own on a hosted platform such as Cloudways. This gives you a place to share your thoughts on a platform you control.

You can’t do this on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, or other social media platforms. Those are controlled by a business you have no control over. Your personal or branded website will not be.

Tenacity:

Many bloggers and social media influencers give up far too soon. They lack the tenacity it takes to become successful.

When there’s a lack of traffic, they give up.

That’s not you.

You have tenacity. You know there’s gold just beyond the next ax strike.

Stick with it. Have an online presence. Share your message.

Before you know it, your social influencer presence will grow. Who knows where it will take you?!?
