Role-playing is often used in management training. Sometimes, it is even effective.
Let's consider how role-playing could provide indirect training in the course of the workday. Some examples:
- Purchasing Officers. In a fictitious scenario, give the purchasing officers responsibility for a small company. Let them prepare a response to one of a standard Request for Proposal that they've sent out.
- Human Resources Professionals. Let them pretend to be a job applicant and complete the paperwork to apply for three jobs with the organization.
- Chief Executive Officers. Have them call their company's front desk in order to get assistance on a complicated customer service request or complaint.
- Other examples?
