Systems People
Systems are flawed. People are flawed.
Systems make mistakes. People make mistakes.
It is important for both sides to realize that.
A danger of a system is that it can be too cold and impersonal. Let's take that as a given.
But a danger faced by people may be far worse. The conduct of the system can make it too tempting for individuals to claim victimhood instead of seriously working to avoid becoming a victim.
If a dysfunctional system doesn't completely chew up a person it may indirectly encourage the victim to chew up what remains.
Martyrdom can be enticing.
