On Thursday, November 7 from 1:30 to 2:45 pm EST, Herrmann International CEO Ann Herrmann-Nehdi was part of a technology panel at the 2013 Americas NeuroLeadership Summit in Washington, DC, discussing how our understanding of the brain can provide new possibilities for improving leadership and organizational performance.
“It’s often reported that our knowledge of the brain doubles every ten years, and the recent explosion of new research, technology and methods means we may be learning much more, much faster,” Herrmann-Nehdi says. “This panel will give us an opportunity to explore big picture ideas for how we can leverage the latest insights to address the new competencies every leader needs to succeed in today’s complex world.”

Herrmann-Nehdi joined industry leaders Joyce Westerdahl, Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Oracle, Tony Stubblebine, co-founder and CEO of Lift, and Dan Radecki, Senior Director of Clinical Research and Development at Allergan, for this brainstorming breakout session. She presented in a Special Interest Group (SIG) session on November 6 from 2:45 to 3:45 pm.
“The NeuroLeadership Summit provides a wealth of information and learning about what’s happening in the world of neuroscience as it relates to leadership, but also as it relates to many aspects of our day-to-day lives,” says Herrmann-Nehdi. “Particularly as our environment gets noisier and more distracting, these scientific concepts have real, practical applications in terms of how we can use our brainpower to be more effective.”
Herrmann-Nehdi has been a speaker at previous NeuroLeadership Summits and filed this video report from the 2010 event in Boston. The 2013 Americas Neuroleadership Summit, “The Neuroscience of Leadership Effectiveness,” took place November 5-8.
