A 2013 survey shows the median earnings for men outside of refugee camps (where they’re not allowed to work) was $160 per month, much less than the Turkish minimum monthly wage of around $400. Syrians no longer feel as welcome as they did when the Turkish border first opened to give them safe harbor.
