Be Brief. Be Bright. Be Gone.

“Get to the point”! Have you been given this feedback during your interactions at work? Often, we feel compelled to prove how much research we’ve done, how much credibility we have, and how thorough we’ve been by sharing every little detail. The problem is, when we do that, people tune out, and we lose the ability to influence.

So, how do you go into your next meeting and make your point?

Be brief, be bright, and be gone.

Be Brief

Find the lead of your story. We call this your point of view. How do you want your listener to change the way they think or act about your topic? what’s the one thing? Nail that up front, and the rest can come in support.

Be Bright

Give the right level of supporting detail. Meet your audience where they are not where you are and then deliver it with conviction

Be Gone

End with action steps what does your listener need to do make it concrete and specific and now we’re gone

With these 3 simple steps, you’ll instantly improve your credibility as a leader.
