Here’s the April, 2013 New York Times Hardcover Business Books Best Sellers List – Lean In debuts at #1

Here’s the April, 2013 New York Times Hardcover Business Books Best Sellers List.  As expected, Lean In by Sheryl Sandberg made its debut at #1.  At the First Friday Book Synopsis, our monthly gathering in Dallas, we present synopses of two business books a month.  After May, we will have presented #s 1, 6, 9, & 12.  A few of the titles from this month’s list, though certainly “worth our attention,” do not quite fit the type of book we select for our event.

We record our synopses, and make them available for purchase, along with our comprehensive handouts, at our companion site, 15minutebusinessbooks.com.  My synopses of To Sell is Human and The Power of Habit are both available , and Lean In should be uploaded shortly.  (I presented Lean In on April 5).  Decisive, my May selection, will be available by around Mid-May, 2013.  All four of these are genuinely good books, with terrific and valuable/useful insights.

{From the April, 2013 Paperback Business Books Best Sellers list, we have presented seven of the ten books at our monthly event, or for a private client:  Outliers; Drive; The Tipping Point; Boomerang; Predictably Irrational; The Checklist Manifesto; and Freakonomics.  Most of these synopses are also available at our companion site, 15MinuteBusinessBooks.com.}

  1. Thanks for the book list! I have enjoyed several of these books, and will be adding some of the others to my list of books to read! Another fantastic business book that SHOULD be on the list is called, “Stop Playing Safe: Rethink Risk. Unlock the Power of Courage. Achieve Outstanding Success” by author Margie Warrell. My co-worker turned me on to this book and I have found it educational and helpful in my professional career. “How to ask for a promotion or pay rise, or just get noticed more for what you do,” is just one tip in this amazing book!
