We had a wonderful gathering last Friday for the March First Friday Book Synopsis.  Karl Krayer presented his synopsis of The Demographic Cliff: How to Survive and Prosper During the Great Deflation of 2014-2019 by Harry S. Dent Jr..  One observation he made is that many books like this provide “snapshots” of the current situation, but we live in a “moving picture/video world,” and a snapshot comes and goes in a hurry.  In other words, a snapshot may not paint a very accurate picture at all.  Helpful!

I presented my synopsis of The Second Machine Age: Work, Progress, and Prosperity in a Time of Brilliant Technologies by Erik Brynjolfsson and Andrew McAfee.  As I stated, this is the book that finally helped me make sense of this genuinely changing technological/digital era.  Really good book!  I’ve already posted about this book a few times, and will share my takeaways, and a few other observations – probably tomorrow.
