The politician makes speeches and promises motivated by pride, ego, notoriety, power, position, stature, and personal success. The politician makes promises and is motivated by pride, ego, notoriety and personal success. The statesman keeps commitments, is motivated by service above and beyond self, and by making a lasting difference. The typical politician spews tired rhetoric while lining their pockets, and has little hope for becoming significant.

There is a tremendous amount of conflicting data as to whether or not incentive compensation in any form is an effective motivation tool. Those team members who share a commonality of core values will automatically assume “best intentions” in one another vs. assuming “worst intentions” or “motives/agendas.” mikemyatt: A leaders Intellect should not be a depreci. Those team members who share the same core values will be predisposed to trusting one another at high levels.
