Haven’t Had Time to Read the Latest Business Books? This Could Really Help

You’ve heard the buzz about these, and other books.

The Signal and the Noise by Nate Silver is a best seller, and a much-needed guide for our data-overload era.

The Advantage: Why Organizational Health Trumps Everything in Business is Patrick Lencioni’s first “non-fable,” and it is a valuable addition to our business understanding.  (He is the author of the wonderful The Five Dysfunctions of a Team).

How Children Succeed:  Grit, Curiosity, and the Hidden Power of Character by Paul Tough is a great book for parents, for educators, but also for people thinking about doing their best in their work life – and for people who have to find/hire/train the right people to work in their company for these challenging times.

The Power of HabitWhy We Do What We Do in life and in Business by Charles Duhigg is a book that will help you think about,  and build, personal habits.  And it has great insight about the power of organizational habits.

These are just four of the recent books we have presented at our monthly First Friday Book Synopsis.  Since April, 1998, Karl Krayer and I have presented two books every month.

What do I mean when I say “presented.’  We read these books, prepare a handout of key and important excepts from the books, and a comprehensive outline of the key content and transferable principles.  We then present our synopses in a fast-paced, 15-minute format.  And we record these (audio recordings), and make the recordings and handouts available on our 15minutebusinessbooks site.

Of course, it would be better if you read the book yourself.  But if you have not had time to read these, or other important and valuable books like:

Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson
Good to Great by Jim Collins
Great by Choice by Jim Collins
Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell
What Matters Now by Gary Hamel,

and many, many others, check out our synopses at our companion web site, 15minutebusinessbooks.com.  For a small fee, you can be listening to one of our synopses, following along on our comprehensive handouts, in just seconds.  (And, you can purchase a subscription, and work through all 200+ of our synopses).

There is so much to learn.  Give it a try today.  Visit 15minutebusinessbooks.com.  15minad
