Grit (Angela Duckworth); and Peak (Anders Ericsson) – Coming for the July 8 First Friday Book Synopsis

Note: for July, we will meet on the second Friday of July, July 8.

——————–

At this morning’s June First Friday Book Synopsis, Karl Krayer presented his synopsis of Sprint: How to Solve Big Problems and Test New Ideas in Just Five Days by Jake Knapp, John Zeratsky, and Brandon Kowitz, and I presented my synopsis of The Third Wave: An Entrepreneur’s Vision of the Future by Steve Case (the co-founder of AOL). Our synopses, with our comprehensive handouts and the audio recordings of our presentations, will be available soon on our companion web site, 15minutebusinessbooks.com.

For July 8, on the 2nd Friday of July, Karl will present his synopsis of Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance by Angela Duckworth, and I will present my synopsis of Peak: Secrets from the New Science of Expertise by Anders Ericsson and Robert Pool.

Anders Ericsson’s area of expertise is… expertise. Most known for his work on the 10,000 hour rule, his book speaks to the need for deliberate practice in building expertise.

And our sponsor for July, Bette Price, will present a bonus season (immediately following our regular session) on her new book, Help! There’s a Plane in My House.

If you are in the DFW area on Friday, July 8, come join us. We met at 7:00 am at the Park City Club in Dallas (University Park). You will be able to register for our July event soon from this web site.
