5 Leadership Books To Read In January 2022

Whoa, can I start off by saying it was weird to type 2022 as the title of this post? Tomorrow is the first day of the new year. Let’s hope it is better than 2020 and 2021. The good news is we can make this coming new year better than all of the rest!

This month, I want to share with you five leadership books you should read. These five books aren’t any old books. They’re actually all new books.

Where did these new books come from?

Stack of books

To write Reel Leadership, I joined the Creator Institute, a cohort-based class out of Georgetown University. It was a great experience and many fantastic books were written. The books I am recommending today come from this cohort and the publisher New Degree Press.

I hope you’ll enjoy these recommended books as much as I did.

5 Leadership Books To Read In January 2022

1. Mentor Coaching by Terrice Thomas:

Thomas wrote a great book about the power of coaching through a mentorship model. She helps readers understand what makes a good mentor, how to set goals, and how to build relationships.

Her book will help you develop personally and professionally. Not only that, you will then know how to share this model with those you lead.

2. Shift Your Paradigm by Dionis J. Rodriguez:

Rodriguez delves deep into the ways you can unlock your hidden potential. We all have greater things within us. Not all of us are living that potentail out.

He helps us to understand why society works the way it does. Another topic he touches on is close, personal relationships. These are a bedrock to unlocking your potential.

Simply shifting your paradigm will help you change your life. This book will help you do that.

3. F.O.R.G.E.D.: Six Practices of Great Leaders in Volatile Times by Douglas Scherer:

Scherer looks at what practices make great leaders. His book, F.O.R.G.E.D., uses the acronym FORGED to help you understand these practices.

Focusing on favoring compassion, owning the unexpected, recasting ideas, going with your intuition, employing action communications, and driving community bonds, Scherer takes you on a journey you won’t soon forget. It’s also a journey you can easily apply to your leadership.

4. In/Action by Jinny Uppal:

Uppal believes we need to rethink the pass to results. After reading her book, I agree with her thoughts.

We live in a world that rewards, at least out loud, the busiest person. The one who is always IN action.

What would happen if we, instead chose inaction instead of action? Check out In/Action to find out!

5. Reel Leadership by Joseph Lalonde:

I’d be remiss to not include my book on this list of leadership books. It’s finally available and I want you to get a copy.

Whether it is the eBook, which is only 99 cents or the physical paperback copy, Reel Leadership will help you look at movies in a new way.

Using stories from the writer of the X-Men 1 and 2 movies to great leaders such as John Ramstead and Kary Oberbrunner, you will find movies can teach you something instead of being junk food for the mind.

Purchase your copy of Reel Leadership on Amazon.

Over the next few months, I’ll be featuring other New Degree Press authors in the leadership book recommendations. The cohort was large and we had a lot of fun getting to know one another.

I hope you’ll enjoy the New Degree Press books recommended here and in the future.
