Hurry up and decide

One of the great challenges of management is the pressure to make decisions – and to do so quickly. Most of us dread the vacuum created when we know a decision needs to be made but for some reason has not been. This existence of such vacuums is indicative of not operating in the NOW and causes us to miss opportunities to excel.

History is filled with decisive leaders who had a track record of making fast decisions – a sign of confidence we admire and expect in our leaders. After all, their self-confidence and voice of authority is what we expect. The boldness and courage of their convictions draws admiration and respect.
