A long time ago, this ethic saved a near-bankrupt company that I had a part in restructuring. The principle then travels down through the various functions, and ends at sea level with an individual’s daily “to do list.” The strategy I’ve grown to love and count on over a 45-year career is do less, better.

They ensure their people have access to both the financial and human resources they need to get the job done and cut them loose to do their thing. Effective leaders set the right tone at the top, which becomes the organization’s ethical standards. These leaders never micro-manage. Tone at the top is critically important.

My other option is to use the small lightweight laptop I use for travel. I can then choose the correct word from a list of possible word options, but I have to hope it’s on the list. Otherwise, I have to revert to Ctrl V. But because it’s for convenience, it’s really not ideal for lengthy projects, marathon typing, and other assignments.
