I’m lucky to meet many impressive managers and leaders in my role as CMI’s director of membership. Recently a story came to my attention that captivated me.

Michael Aston is a remarkable man who has long championed the value of high-quality management and played a key role in the creation of CMI.

It has become clear in recent years that poor management has a hugely damaging effect on all aspects of business and society. It harms staff wellbeing, retention and the ultimate success of organisations – be it the bottom line for companies or the smooth delivery of public services for taxpayers.
