On April 3, 1998, Karl Krayer and I presented our first two books at the first ever First Friday Book Synopsis. Here were our first two book choices:
• The Circle of Innovation by Tom Peters (Alfred A. Knopf, 1997) – synopsis presented by Randy Mayeux.
• The Leadership Engine: How Winning Companies Build Leaders at Every Level by Noel Tichy (Harper Business, 1997) – synopsis presented by Karl Krayer.
Except for a couple of snow-month exceptions, Karl and I have presented two books every month since then. And this morning, we completed our 14th year.
Many people find our sessions rich in content, valuable for the networking, and a real monthly “shot in the intellectual development and networking arm.” With new people every month, and a large perpetually interacting crowd, this really is a terrific event to add to your calendar.
For the start of our 15th year, on April 6, Karl will present his synopsis of Thinking, Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman. I will present my synopsis of What Matters Now: How to Win in a World of Relentless Change, Ferocious Competition, and Unstoppable Innovation by Gary Hamel. Both of these books are provocative, valuable, useful. I think you will find them worthy of your time.
Come help us celebrate our “anniversary,” and help us launch year # 15. There is so much more to learn, and so many more people connections to make.
(You’ll be able to register soon from this web site for the April event).
