Nalebuff have written in their book Co-Opetition , businesses that form co-opetitions become more competitive by cooperating. Co-opetitions work especially well for businesses that create the “latest- and-most-gadgeted” technologies and innovations because R&D is expensive. If these firms had not embraced the idea of working together, they would not have the fiscal resources and manpower to renovate and build new airplanes.
