An Exciting, New Next Level Partnership
My friend and colleague Dan McCarthy recently shared this finding on his Great Leadership blog. According to a 2012 Corporate University Xchange Leadership study, 81 % of surveyed organizations have “significant” concerns about their leadership bench strength and their ability to support future growth.
That’s a pretty stunning number when you think about it. Fortunately, as director of executive education programs for the University of New Hampshire’s Whittemore School of Business and Economics, Dan is in a position to do something about it. I’m excited to report that he’s asked me to assist him in that goal.
Earlier this week, UNH announced the inaugural session of the Next Level Executive Development Program. Along with his colleagues at UNH, Dan and I have been working to put together a week long program designed to support rising leaders in preparing for next level leadership roles in their organizations. The program is based on many of the principles and tools in my book, The Next Level, and I’ll be leading the first day of the program on the UNH campus.
Dan is a fantastic and highly experienced designer of executive education programs and with the Next Level Executive Development Program, he’s created a high impact, blended learning experience that will deliver the following takeaways to the leaders who participate:
- Understand what they need to “pick up” and “let go” in order to lead at the next level
- Develop executive “next level” capabilities in the areas of strategic thinking, executive presence, leading change, and other key differentiators
- Gain self-awareness into their leadership strengths and development needs and create a personal growth plan supported by coaching
- Work on a high level, strategic company challenge and prepare an action plan with recommendations for implementation
