I love working with authors to co-create meaning and serve great ideas visually in form of book/chapter sketchnote summaries. The learning that comes along with it is invaluable.

In 2018, I had the privilege of working with Tiffani Bova to illustrate case studies and chapter summaries in her book “Growth IQ – Get Smarter About the Choices that Will Make or Break Your Business” – the book went on to become a WSJ bestseller and has been translated in 9 different languages so far.

CATALYSE: Power Up Your People Ecosystem, Krish Shankar

2021 brought along the opportunity to work with Krish Shankar, Group Head of HR at Infosys to create chapter summaries in his book “CATALYSE: Power-Up Your People Ecosystem” that was recently released.

Your personal leadership style can impact only a small number of people directly, and may not change the entire organization. You can create a larger impact only if you can architect your human process ecosystem appropriately and make sure that every person in the organization demonstrates the right behaviours and actions for the success of the business.

– Krish Shankar, Catalyse

There were a few reasons why I was excited about working with Krish Shankar on this book project:

  • I respect Krish Shankar as an individual and have followed his insights and work for a few years now. Working with people you admire and respect makes everything better.
  • The book was very timely given that we are facing disruptions in the talent ecosystem and businesses are challenged to attract, retain and grow the best talent in a hyper-competitive landscape. It is an ideal reference for HR Leaders, Functional Heads, C-Suite Executives as well as aspiring people managers who are building their foundational skills. The book has rich insights for leaders at all levels, not just HR Leaders.
  • I have been working with leaders, managers and aspiring ones for over two decades. Their success largely depends on how well they nurture talent around themselves through a complex combination of leadership behaviors, mindset, people-focused culture, reward systems, engagement, growth enablement, performance systems and so on. It is never easy.
  • The book offers a playbook that provides a practical guide to empower your people through a strong ecosystem.
  • As a business leader and consultant, I was excited to learn immersively while creating the sketchnotes and complementing ideas visually.
  • The book is a perfect blend of experiential insights as well as insights from latest research on psychology and neuroscience in the field of HR and focuses on 10 foundational outcomes.

I am excited about this milestone and hoping that this book is read, internalized and implemented by many business leaders because what organizations truly need today is an ecosystem that values, nurtures and unleashes people potential to thrive in a disruptive world.
