The Enron scandals of 2001 and 2002 focused only upon cooked books audit committees and deal making. In my opinion, deregulation, as a whole, has worked negatively upon business and society (banking, airlines, trucking, and broadcasting), and the SEC is no exception. Executives never stayed long.
