Ironically, the article bring out how it doesn't even serve their purposes well, and I think corporations should be wary about hiring such self-serving bullies and placing them in positions of trust.

Organizations short on leadership talent find themselves in such a position for a reason… current leadership failed to lead. It's an open question as to whether they'll be embraced and placed in positions of trust or smothered as a potential embarassment to the rest of the organizational heirarchy.

They would take the position that gossip is just part of human nature, and that gossip will always exist in any type of environment where social dynamics are present. The old saying “it is what it is” is only true until you decide to make a difference.

found that the number of women in top executives positions in Canada has fallen over the past year from 37 women in the highest-paying executive jobs in 2006 to just 31 in 2007. Furthermore, of the 535 highest paid and most senior positions at those companies, only 5.8% are held by women (down from 6.9% in the prior year).

Let me make my position very clear…design absolutely matters. While this position may seem a bit harsh, it is nonetheless true. I could go on ad nauseum with similar questions, but my guess is that you get my point… Now let’s examine the flip-side of the coin by looking at the positives associated with strong design.

I strongly recommend to all business leaders that they learn to develop a command presence, and lead from a committed and passionate position of strength. I’ve rarely come across students of military history that don’t have a great command of both strategic thinking and tactical implementation.
