Leadership is a full-contact sport, and if you cannot address conflict in a healthy, productive fashion then you should not be in a leadership role. If so, you likely have issues with conflict. Here’s the thing - leadership and conflict go hand-in-hand. The way to avoid conflict is to help those around you achieve their objectives.

Sure, goals are important and attaining them is even more important. My point is – if we constantly keep our goal in perspective (and get overwhelmed by it), we become less efficient. It is easy to get overwhelmed by the enormity of our goals - but we need to remember that an elephant can only be eaten one piece at a time!

The most important decision a leader can make with regard to any implementation, initiative, project, objective, goal, task, etc. And many young leaders lose focus on the team goal and focus on either being popular with their team or following the rules. is who they are going to put in charge?
