Early on in our careers, we might speak up without concern or context. Or we might be reticent to speak up, fearful of what others might think, perhaps remembering the famous quip attributed to Lincoln : "It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt." But it's a skill worth pursuing.
