We are not here to become like our men. That is our legacy, not just to our own children, to all those who come after us.

Hewlett-Packard, another technology company, named Meg Whitman as their CEO in September 2011. Social media is all about communicating and engaging, and women have the upper hand here. In the past, business was about cooperation, and we cooperated because we had to. Men are great at cooperating. Plot it out.

When weather and schedules cooperate, we walk downtown at night and through the campus of Austin Peay State University (our Alma mater and the fastest growing university in our state). Jeremy has proven to be a hard worker and is doing well in his new career in marketing and social media. Merry Christmas! We love it.

Unresolved conflict often results in a loss of productivity, stifles creativity, and creates barriers to cooperation. Developing effective conflict resolution skill sets are an essential component of a building a sustainable business model. Perhaps most importantly for leaders, good conflict resolution ability equals good employee retention.

However when a situation can be seen through the lens of difference, and a position is simply a matter of opinion not a totalitarian statement of fact, then cooperation and compromise is possible. This is a skill I believe many leaders do not develop until later in their careers. I know I am still working on it. Thank you for sharing.
