Life-threatening experiences (loss of business or market share, economic recession) signal the urgency for the team to collaborate. Marketing’s importance was fully embraced in the 1960′s. Evaluate organizations online: their mission, major products/markets, history, and biographies of key participants. If you have more time, contribute to an association committee. Base marketing initiatives on shared values and multiple-agendas. Investigate those doing what you want to do. Their advice can be invaluable.
