I disagree with the argument that it takes several years to learn how to get things done in Washington. Another key distinction is one highlighted by Stephen Covey in his 7-Habits books. mikemyatt: A leaders Intellect should not be a depreci. That is only because those who control the congress make it that way. TERM LIMITS NOW!

As Covey puts it: seeking first to be understand before being understood. mikemyatt: A leaders Intellect should not be a depreci. It ties into self-aware post. And crucially listening to others using eyes, ears, body, emotions and thinking. As leaders we should be asking more questions than having answers. Our Freedom.

By contrast I am always impressed by those who choose a life of service over personal glory, or those who understand how to leverage their personal success into significance. mikemyatt: A leaders Intellect should not be a depreci. I think one reason for that is that I always had a strong sense of purpose/my purpose and who I am.
